Beware of Fraud

Fraudsters often pretend to be banks, lenders or agents like us. A few simple rules keep you safe.
We will never ask for
- Your OTP, PIN, UPI PIN or CVV
- Your full card number, card expiry date, or internet-banking / app password
- Remote access to your phone, or for you to install an app we send you
- Payment into a personal account, UPI ID or wallet
Genuine banks and payment companies never ask for your password, PIN, OTP or CVV either. Do not share them with anyone, however genuine they sound.
Warning signs
- Someone asks you to pay a small amount first, called a "processing fee", "file charge", "tax clearance" or "conversion charge", before a loan or card is approved or money is released.
- A promise of guaranteed approval, or pressure to decide "right now".
- A loan offer or app that will not tell you which bank or NBFC is lending. Genuine lending platforms name it upfront.
- A request to share copies of your KYC documents with an unknown person or unverified app.
- A call or message offering to "update" or "unblock" your KYC through a link.
- A customer-care number found through a search engine. Use the official website instead.
How to check it's really us

We call between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM and tell you our name and the bank we are working with (see how we contact you). If you are unsure whether a call is really from us, hang up and check with us on WhatsApp before you share anything.

If something goes wrong
- You have lost money: call the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 straight away, or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in.
- You got an OTP or a debit SMS for a transaction you did not make: tell your bank immediately and ask it to block your card, net banking and UPI.
- You received a suspected fraud call, SMS or WhatsApp but have not lost money: report it on Chakshu at sancharsaathi.gov.in.
- An unauthorised lender, app or scheme: report it on the RBI's Sachet portal at sachet.rbi.org.in.
- Someone is misusing our name: please tell us on +91 70412 29302 as well.
